Whose Permission Slip Are You Waiting For?
Yes — even as grown women, parts of us are still waiting.
Waiting for someone, somewhere, to give us permission.
Permission to feel ourselves fully.To put up boundaries.To follow the dream that makes no sense.To express ourselves honestly.To walk away from what is heavy.To claim more time, more space, more life.
And so we hesitate.We second-guess.We stall at the threshold of our own lives.
Woman — you already carry the authority you’re waiting for.
There is a voice within you that can grant permission for anything it asks of you. But that is the voice we avoid consulting.
We tell ourselves we’re afraid of the world.Afraid of judgment.Afraid of what others will think.
But more often, the harshest voice is our own.
Our own criticism.Our own judgment.Our own refusal to let ourselves be human.
We project that fear outward and say they will judge me.But what we are truly afraid of is agreeing with them.
Because the weight of the world is survivable.
It is the weight of our own condemnation that crushes us.
Here is the truth:
The world cannot disintegrate you if you stand on your own side.
If you meet yourself with patience.With compassion.With the willingness to explore what you want and need — imperfectly.
Self-love is not a concept.It is a practice.
It is noticing your patterns.And choosing a different response.
Did you fail? Good. It means you tried.
Did you make a scene? Good. You took up space.
Did you say something you feared would end the world?
Look around.
The world is still spinning.
Safety does not come from controlling every outcome.It comes from granting yourself the grace to be human.To experiment.To grow.
