Perfection Looks Different for Every HSP.
For some, perfectionism looks like obsessing over every tiny detail, afraid of making even the smallest mistake. For others, it’s procrastination, endlessly avoiding starting something because it might not turn out “just right.” But no matter how perfectionism shows up, the side effects are the same:

Emotional Congestion: You get stuck in your head, overwhelmed by the pressure to “get it perfect.”

Hyper-Focus on the Wrong Details: As HSPs, we pick up on so many subtle details that we often fixate on the wrong ones—polishing minutiae while losing sight of the bigger picture.

Paralysis Over Flow: Perfectionism robs us of the energy and joy of simply creating and letting our ideas, words, and art move into the world.
Here’s the truth: perfectionism is the enemy of excellence. Why? Because perfection doesn’t exist. Excellence, however, does—but it only emerges when you let your creativity, your words, and your self-expression flow freely- and with 'flaw'.
